Tanvi Kankan

M.A. Clinical Psychology

About Me

Hello.

I'm an Indian psychotherapist and research consultant based out of Gurugram & Bengaluru.

I've founded Panah Counselling Collective, which includes therapists sharing values, resources, and office space. I supervise, mentor and learn from practitioners there. We work online and in person.

I can be reached at kankan.tanvi@gmail.com.

My research areas include community psychiatry, improving mental health access in under-resourced areas, and cultural influences on mental health. I collaborate with US and Latin America-based academic researchers and also consult for local Indian organizations working on the ground.

My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing on humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, attachment-based and relational models and theories. I use a social justice lens, and strive to be queer affirmative and trauma-informed in my approach

I facilitate workshops related to mental health issues, have participated in psychoeducational podcasts, and write on various mental health topics along with my team.
