Tanvi Kankan

M.A. Clinical Psychology

About Me

Hello. I'm an Indian psychotherapist and research consultant based out of Gurugram, India, and founder of Panah Counselling Collective.

My approach to therapy is eclectic, queer-affirmative, and trauma-informed, drawing on humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, attachment-based and relational models and theories.

I use a social justice lens, and my varied lived, field & research experiences in Delhi, Kerala, and New York shape me and my therapeutic and research approach.

Whether on working together in therapy, or for research or workshops collaborations, I'd be interested to hear from you. You can reach me at kankan.tanvi@gmail.com

My research areas include community mental health, cultural influences on mental health, and psychotherapy and attachment. In the past I have collaborated with US and Latin America-based academic researchers and consulted for local Indian organizations working on the ground.

I'm a member of Panah Counselling Collective, a group of independent therapists sharing values, resources, and sometimes office space. We work online and in person.

I facilitate workshops for schools, corporates and colleges and and participate in psychoeducational podcasts. Here are some written resources related to mental health.
